Richard LeBuda Brooks began military service on January 11, 1943.³ He ended military service before May 28, 1981; as a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He served in WW2, Korea and Vietnam.³ He died on May 28, 1981 at Santa Fe, New Mexico, at age 58.^1,4 He was buried after May 28, 1981 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.³

     Viola Brooks was born in December, 1885 at Ohio. She was the daughter of Elisha Brooks and Charlotte Reeves.

     William C. Brooks was born in September, 1891 at Michigan. He was the son of Elisha Brooks and Charlotte Reeves. William C. Brooks worked in 1910 as a baker at Los Angeles, California.

     Jesse Norman Bruce was born on June 19, 1876 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana.¹ He married Ella Elizabeth Hartleroad, daughter of David Hartleroad and Laura J. York, about October 10, 1908 .¹ Jesse Norman Bruce died after 1920.

     Carl Henry Bruggemeier was born on September 4, 1899 at Toledo, Ohio. He was the son of Henry H. Bruggemeier and Louise A. Frobose. Carl Henry Bruggemeier began military service on October 7, 1918 at Toledo, Ohio, as a private in the Students Army Training Corps at Toledo University. He married, at age 24, Elizabeth LeBuda, age 22, daughter of Frederick LeBuda and Caroline Grosky, on Thursday, June 26, 1924 at Toledo, Ohio, . Carl Henry Bruggemeier died in February, 1984 at age 84.

From Akron, Ohio, LT Carl Henry Bruggemeier was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bruggemeier.
He attended Norwich with the class of '51.

He entered the service in August '49, and won his pilot wings after graduating from the Naval Air
Training School in Pensacola, Florida.

He was stationed at a Marine air base south of Seoul and flew combat raids for five months. He
died on February 3, 1953, on his last mission before a scheduled rest in Japan. He had also been
due for a change of assignment in 4-6 weeks.

In another sad footnote to his death, his fiance, Joan, received his engagement ring two days after
the casualty telegram.

He died on August 23, 2012 at Miami County, Indiana, at age 90.³ He was buried on August 27, 2012 at Rankin Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.³

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Donald R. Bucher, 90, of Peru, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Miami County on June 25, 1922, the son of Elmer and Laura Daubenspeck Bucher. Don married Anita Darby on Oct. 28, 1944 and she survives.
Don was a 1941 graduate of Clay Township Highs School, a member of the Loree Brethren Church and retired from Haynes International in 1982 after more than 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and his military decorations include the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the WWII Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation of Japan Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Surviving in addition to his wife Anita, is a son, Fred Bucher and his wife Nadine of Peru, grandchildren, Angela Hays, Abra Masuth, Allison Roop, Melissa Bucher, Heather Fowler, Todd Bucher, Sherry Jackson, Patricia Wright and Reba Jackson, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Kay McKee, John Rickard and Lee Stuber. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joe Bucher; a sister, Mary Richard, and four brothers, Glen, Earl, John and Weldon Bucher.
A service celebrating the life of Donald R. Bucher will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru with Pastor Bill Bussard officiating. Burial will be in Rankin Cemetery with Military Graveside Services provided by members of the Miami County Military Rites Unit. Family and friends will gather from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

     Ersie C. Bucher was born in August, 1886 at Miami County, Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of Fred Bucher and Amanda Vore. Ersie C. Bucher married, at age 22, William Henry Shirley, age 31 on Friday, May 28, 1909 .

     Fred Bucher was born on May 31, 1844 at Switzerland.^1,2 He was the son of Joseph Bucher and Catherine Waymeier.¹ Fred Bucher immigrated in 1857 to USA.² He married Amanda Vore, daughter of Peter Vore and Martha Hall, in 1872 at Indiana .² Fred Bucher died on July 17, 1919 at Bunker Hill, Miami County, Indiana, at age 75.¹ He was buried on July 20, 1919 at Springdale Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.¹

     Glen Bucher was born on March 25, 1913 at Indiana. He was the son of Elmer Harvey Bucher and Laura Elsie Daubenspeck. Glen Bucher died on November 17, 1990 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana, at age 77.

     John W. Bucher was born on April 6, 1917 at Miami County, Indiana. He was the son of Elmer Harvey Bucher and Laura Elsie Daubenspeck. John W. Bucher died on March 5, 1997 at Glendale, California, at age 79.

     Joseph Bucher was born at Switzerland.¹ He married Catherine Waymeier .¹

     Mary F. Bucher was born on March 25, 1920 at Indiana.^1,2 She was the daughter of Elmer Harvey Bucher and Laura Elsie Daubenspeck.¹ Mary F. Bucher married, at age 20, John L. Rickard on Friday, February 7, 1941 . Mary F. Bucher worked before 2008 at the Delco Corporation.³ She died on February 9, 2008 at Howard Regional Hospital, Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana, at age 87.³ She was buried after February 9, 2008 at Rankin Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.³

Mary F. (Bucher) Rickard, 87, Bunker Hill, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at Howard Regional Hospital.

She was born March 25, 1920 in Miami County to Elmer and Laura (Daubenspeck) Bucher. She married John L. Rickard June 7, 1941, and he preceded her in death.

Mary retired from Delco and attended Emmanuel Fellowship Church, Bunker Hill.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay McKee, Kokomo; a son, John Rickard and wife Peggy, Alta Loma, Calif; two grandchildren, Laura J. McKee and Tara Kay Burns; a great-grandchild, Justin Mattingly; and a brother, Donald Bucher, Peru.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, Bunker Hill, with Pastor Gerald Zook officiating.

Burial will be in Rankin Cemetery, Miami County.

     Weldon E. Bucher was born on January 30, 1926 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana.¹ He was the son of Elmer Harvey Bucher and Laura Elsie Daubenspeck. Weldon E. Bucher died on December 16, 1953 at Yangsu-ri, South Korea, at age 27.¹ He was buried after December 16, 1953 at Rankin Cemetery - Washington Township, Miami County, Indiana.

Private First Class Bucher was a member of Company C, 62nd Engineer Construction Battalion, U.S. Army. On December 16, 1953, he was on a work detail near Yangsu-ri, South Korea, when a mortar shell accidentally exploded. He died enroute to the 121st Evacuation Hospital. Private First Class Bucher was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.²

     Thomas Budd Jr. was born on February 26, 1928 at Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana.¹ He married, at age 40, Mary Jane Hahn, age 42, daughter of Tressie Sylvin Hahn and Mae Gertrude Curry, on Friday, July 26, 1968 at Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana, .² Thomas Budd Jr. died on December 12, 1998 at Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana, at age 70.^3,1

     Bertha Louise Buelow was born on January 16, 1874 at Germany.² She married August William Goralske, son of Gottfried Goralski and Augusta Hohenstein, about 1896 at Ohio .³ Bertha Louise Buelow died on April 15, 1945 at Toledo, Ohio, at age 71.² She was buried after April 15, 1945 at Plot: SECTION 23-LOT 232, Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Lucas County, Ohio.²

     Norma R. Bundy was born in 1917. She married Doral Marvin Daubenspeck, age 23, son of Roy Daubenspeck and Rachel Etta Morris, on Saturday, February 3, 1940 at Camas, Clark County, Washington, . Norma R. Bundy died in 1983.

     Lloyd Bunnell was born on March 21, 1903 at Miami County, Indiana. He married Violet Shirley May Hartleroad, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Hartleroad and Anna Frick, about 1922 . Lloyd Bunnell and Violet Shirley May Hartleroad were divorced before 1930.¹ Lloyd Bunnell died on March 29, 1966 at Wabash County, Indiana, at age 63.
