     Celestia K. Ramsey was born on September 3, 1867. She was the daughter of James E. Ramsey and Lucinda Adams. Celestia K. Ramsey married, at age 18, John T. Kaicy on Thursday, March 11, 1886 . Celestia K. Ramsey died on October 17, 1953 at Kokomo, Indiana, at age 86.¹

     David Ramsey was born about 1840 at Indiana. He was the son of Samuel Ramsey and Elizabeth Hahn. David Ramsey began military service on November 27, 1861 as a private in Company B, 40th Infantry Regiment Indiana. He died on October 20, 1865 of disease while serving in the Union Army.

This regiment was organized at Lafayette and was mustered in
Dec. 30, 1861. It left the state at once going into camp at
Bardstown, Ky. In February it moved to Bowling Green and
Nashville with Buell's army, going thence to Alabama.

At the time of Bragg's invasion of Kentucky, the 40th was
stationed in southern Tennessee. When Buell moved into
Kentucky the regiment marched to Nashville and proceeded with
the army to Kentucky in pursuit of Bragg. It returned to
Nashville, was assigned to the 6th division, 14th army corps,
was engaged at Stone's River, losing 9 killed, 63 wounded and
13 missing, and at Murfreesboro was assigned to the 2nd
brigade, 1st division, 21st corps on the reorganization of the
army.

It was engaged in the battle of Chickamauga also in the
battles of Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge, and passed
the winter in eastern Tennessee. It reenlisted as a veteran
organization in Jan. 1864, at Blain's cross-roads, Tenn., and
visited Indiana on furlough.

It was stationed at Cleveland, Tenn. when the Atlanta campaign
opened, then joined the 2nd brigade, 2nd division, 4th corps
and accompanied the army through that campaign participating
in all the movements, battles and skirmishes. It was
conspicuously engaged at Dallas, Kennesaw Mountain,
Chattahoochee River and Peachtree Creek.

After the capture of Atlanta it was ordered to Chattanooga and
remained there until November, when it moved for Nashville and
took part in the battle at that point in December. It then
joined in the pursuit of Hood as far as Huntsville, Ala.,
passed the winter at Nashville, moved to Johnsonville in June,
1865, and took transports for New Orleans, where it joined the
4th corps and proceeded to Texas, being stationed at Port
Lavaca.

It was mustered out Dec. 25, 1865. Its original strength was
928; gain by recruits, 581; reenlistments, 246; total, 1,755.
Loss by death, 312; desertion, 131; unaccounted for, 29.

     Gilbert Carl Ramsey was born on November 14, 1895 at Butler Township, Miami County, Indiana. He was the son of Alfred Ramsey and Amanda Jane Pitts. Gilbert Carl Ramsey died on August 16, 1972 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana, at age 76.

     Glenn W. Ramsey was born on May 14, 1905 at Miami County, Indiana.¹ He was the son of Harry Ambrose Ramsey and Goldie Permela Woodward. Glenn W. Ramsey worked before 1994 as a bus driver.¹ He died on April 8, 1994 at Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at age 88.¹ He was buried on April 11, 1994 at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.¹

     Harry Ambrose Ramsey was born on August 20, 1882 at Miami County, Indiana.¹ He was the son of Alfred Ramsey and Amanda Jane Pitts. Harry Ambrose Ramsey married, at age 24, Goldie Permela Woodward on Thursday, April 25, 1907 . Harry Ambrose Ramsey worked in 1910 as a Street Car Motorman at Peru, Miami County, Indiana.² He worked before 1974 on the Winona Railroad at Miami County, Indiana.¹ He died on March 17, 1974 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana, at age 91.¹ He was buried on March 20, 1974 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, Indiana.¹

     James Allen Ramsey is the son of Otto Pitts Ramsey.

     James E. Ramsey was born on December 26, 1840 at Indiana. He was the son of Samuel Ramsey and Elizabeth Hahn. James E. Ramsey began military service on April 7, 1864 as a private in company "B" of the 40th Indiana Infantry Regiment. Mustered out December 21, 1865. He married, at age 25, Lucinda Adams, age 20 on Thursday, August 30, 1866 at Miami County, Indiana, . James E. Ramsey died on January 15, 1903 at Miami County, Indiana, at age 62.

     Jeremiah Layton Ramsey was born on February 10, 1833 at Creagerstown, Frederick County, Maryland.¹ He was the son of Samuel Ramsey and Elizabeth Hahn. Jeremiah Layton Ramsey married, at age 29, Anna Eliza Swimley, daughter of Jacob Swimley and Eliza Dorman, on Thursday, March 20, 1862 at Indiana .² Jeremiah Layton Ramsey married, at age 31, Emma Virginia Swimley, age 23, daughter of Jacob Swimley and Eliza Dorman, on Thursday, April 14, 1864 at Miami County, Indiana, .² Jeremiah Layton Ramsey worked before March 26, 1909 as a Reverend at Miami County, Indiana.¹ He died on March 26, 1909 at Miami County, Indiana, at age 76.¹ He was buried after March 26, 1909 at Santa Fe Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.

     Lillian Ainsley Ramsey was born on September 4, 1871 at Miami County, Indiana. She was the daughter of James E. Ramsey and Lucinda Adams. Mary Elizabeth Ramsey died on April 4, 1960 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana, at age 83.¹ She was buried on April 6, 1960 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Wabash, Indiana.¹

Waisner, age 29 on Friday, December 25, 1868 . Mary J. Ramsey died on August 20, 1915 at Jackson Township, Howard County, Indiana, at age 81.¹ She was buried on August 23, 1915 at Thrallkill Cemetery, Converse, Miami County, Indiana.¹ She died from injuries received in a burning building.¹

     Matilda Ramsey was born on December 15, 1836 at Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Ramsey and Elizabeth Hahn. Matilda Ramsey died on May 9, 1906 at Jackson Twp., Howard County, Indiana, at age 69.¹

     Otto Pitts Ramsey was born on September 14, 1886 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana. He was the son of Alfred Ramsey and Amanda Jane Pitts. Otto Pitts Ramsey worked in 1917 as a schoolteacher at Prosser, Washington.

     Samuel Ramsey was born on March 18, 1808 at York, Greene County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Samuel Ramsey and Elizabeth Boyles. Samuel Ramsey married Elizabeth Hahn, daughter of John Adam Hahn and Catherine Ackerman, in 1832 at Frederick County, Maryland, . Samuel Ramsey worked after 1850 as a Physician. He died on March 2, 1882 at Miami County, Indiana, at age 73.

     Harrison Ray was born on May 19, 1892 at Windfall, Indiana.¹ He married, at age 21, Edythe Ethel Duck, age 30, daughter of Henry Duck and Susan Catharine Daubenspeck, on Wednesday, June 25, 1913 at Miami County, Indiana, .² Harrison Ray died on August 2, 1951 at Detroit, Michigan, at age 59.³ He was buried about August 5, 1951 at Section T, Grand Lawn Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.⁴

     Ruth A. Reese was born in October, 1856 at Indiana. She married John H. York, son of Benjamin S. York and Elizabeth Laymon, about 1879 .¹ Ruth A. Reese died on August 26, 1908 at age 51. She was buried about August 28, 1908 at Santa Fe Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.

     Charlotte Reeves was born about 1858 at California.¹ She married Elisha Brooks in 1880 . Charlotte Reeves died after 1930.

     George Reiselt was born in 1869 at Marion County, Ohio. He married Caroline Boblenz, daughter of Albert Frederick Boblenz and Sophia Rebecca Kiest, about 1891 .

     Dessie Reitzel was born on August 22, 1884 at Hendricks County, Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of William H. Reitzel and Sarah Emma Staley.² Dessie Reitzel married, at age 19, Jesse Kline on Wednesday, December 30, 1903 .³ Dessie Reitzel married, at age 24, John Dee Wilson, age 23, son of John Wesley Wilson and Mary F. King, on Sunday, September 20, 1908 at Peru, Miami County, Indiana, .¹

     Helen Margaret Rengert is the daughter of Lawrence Michael Rengert and Agnes Mildred Kuehner.

     Lawrence Michael Rengert was born on February 15, 1888 at Morrow County, Ohio. He began military service on May 24, 1918 as a Private in Company "C" of the 309th Engineers, AEF. He married, at age 34, Agnes Mildred Kuehner, age 23, daughter of William Joseph Kuehner and Lydia C. Ruehrmund, on Tuesday, March 14, 1922 at Marion County, Ohio, . Lawrence Michael Rengert died on October 4, 1974 at age 86.
