An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on March 29, 1923 for George W. Donnell stated he had died at the Shelby County Memorial hospital. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Donnell, and was born in Bond County in March 1840. He was united in marriage to Miss Nancy E. Wheeler on September 12, 1867. To this union five children were born, two of whom had died in infancy. The three surviving children were Harley E. Donnell of Findlay, Harry W. Donnell of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Nellie Pogue of Shelbyville. Also there were two sisters and one brother, Mrs. W. M. Barber of Windsor, Mrs. M. J. Hawkins of Donnellson and J. M. Donnell of Portland, Ore. Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian Church, Rev. J. Stanley Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
