Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2004, 11 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Roehm officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends may meet with the family Monday, August 9th, from 4 to 8 PM at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one mile south of Rt 30) Schererville, IN. Virginia was an active member for many years at the First Christian Church of Hammond as an organist. She also played at Southlake Christian Church of Hammond and First Christian Church in Harvey, IL. She was a 50 plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Services Monday at 7 p.m.) Hammond Chapter 370 where she played the organ as needed. Over the years she worked a W.B. Conkey, Rand McNally and Youngstown Sheet and tube where she worked as a bookkeeper until retirement. She taught piano and organ for many years. She loved to play the piano for her own enjoyment and to crochet. She will be surely missed.
