     James Madison Pearce was born on January 26, 1831 at Madison County, Ohio. He was the son of James Pearce and Sarah Yost. James Madison Pearce married, at age 29, Phila York, age 18, daughter of John P. York and Laura Perham, on Thursday, January 24, 1861 at Miami County, Indiana, . James Madison Pearce died on July 18, 1897 at Miami County, Indiana, at age 66.

     Edward Pearson was born on June 3, 1648 at Pownall Fee, Mobberly, Cheshire, England. He was a Quaker.¹ He was the son of Lawrence John Pierson and Elizabeth Janney. Edward Pearson married, at age 21, Sarah Burgess, age 18, daughter of Richard Burgess and Katherine, on Thursday, March 6, 1669/70 at Pownall Fee, Mobberly, Cheshire, England, . Edward Pearson died on June 3, 1697 at Fall Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at age 49.

From the General Register Office, Somerset House, London:
Whereas Edward Pearson (or Peirson) of Pownall Fee in the County of Chester, and Sarah Burgis of the same township and
County, spinster, having declared their intentions of marriage at sundry times at several public meetings of the people of God,
called Quakers, within the aforesaid County: which was approved by the said meeting. Now these are to certify to all people
whom it may concern that for the full determining of the intentions aforesaid, this Sixth day of the First Month in the Years
one thousand six hundred and seventy-one, in an assembly of the People of God aforesaid at Thomas Pott's house of Pownall
Fee aforesaid, the said Edward Peirson did solemnly in the fear of God, according to the example of the Holy Men of God,
recorded in the Scriptures of Truth, take the said Sarah Burgis to be his wife. And likewise she, the said Sarah Burgis did
then take the said Edward Peirson to be her husband. And we who were present at the taking each other have hereunto set our

Edward Pearson brought with him this certificate from England.
"To Friends in Pennsylvania, This:Whereas Edward Pearson of Pownall Fee, in ye County of Chester, mason, was willing
to transport himself and family into ye Country of Pennsylvania abovesd, these therefore may certify you yt hee sd. Edward
went away in th unity and by ye consent of Ffriends, paying to everybody what has owed them soo fare as wee know, given at
our monethely meeting held at Ralph Brooke's in Bram Hall in ye County of Chester abovesd, the first of ye 4th month, 1687,
signed on behalf of ye monethely meeting by John Bancroft, Thomas Pott, Richard Smith, William Janney, Tho. Jalish, John
ffeirmely, Harry Burgis, John Hobson, John Larnley, Jr., Ralsp Brooks, John Hough, John Bradley, John Walker, and two
others whose names are illegible."

About 1688 or 1689 Edward and his family removed to within the limits of Falls Monthly Meeting of Bucks Co., Pa. On the
records of this meeting Edward is mentioned several times in connection with mason work. Edward Pearson died intestate in
Bucks County in 1697 or 1698 and Letters of Administration on his estate were granted November 17, 1698, to his son,
Lawrence Pearson, the widow Sarah, now the wife of Martin Wildman, consenting. The estate was probated in Bucks Co.,
Pa., 7/22-1698, the inventory of his property amounting to 173 pounds. The inventory of the estate, both real and personal, of

     Enoch Pearson was born on May 25, 1718 at Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was a Quaker.² He was the son of Enoch Pearson and Margaret Smith. Enoch Pearson married, at age 33, Tabitha Jacocks, age 16, daughter of Jonathon Jacocks and Mary Stout, on Tuesday, September 7, 1751 at Hopewell, Frederick County, Virginia, .¹ Enoch Pearson worked before 1780 as a Surveyor. He began military service in April, 1780 at Charleston, South Carolina, joined with the Continental army during the seige of Charleston.³ He died after April 2, 1780 at Union County, South Carolina.

On September 30, 1765,at Berkeley (Union) Co., South Carolina Enoch Pearson purchased land at Padgett's Creek. (now part of Sumter Natlional Forest.)

April 20, 1775, the date of the will of Enoch Pearson; to wife Tabitha homestead plantation of 350 acres, horse, etc;

In 1780, Enoch Pearson joined the Continental Army, under Col. Brandon's regiment at the battle of Charleston in spring.

His son William had been a Loyalist, but came over to the American cause by his father's death; he had been captured at Bunker Hill.³

     Enoch Pearson was born on March 27, 1683 at Pownall Fee, Mobberly, Cheshire, England. He was the son of Edward Pearson and Sarah Burgess. Enoch Pearson was a Quaker. He married, at age 29, Margaret Smith, age 21, daughter of William Smith and Agness Mary Croasdale, on Wednesday, September 28, 1712 at Middleton, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, . Enoch Pearson worked before 1758 as a Reverend at Pennsylvania. He died on March 15, 1758 at Chester, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at age 74. Enoch was brought to Pennsylvania when he was only four years old. The family first settled at Darby and afterwards moved to Fallsington, Bucks Co. His father died when he was fourteen or fifteen and his mother re-married. He worked as acarpenter. He purchased 100 acres of land from his brother Lawrence.

Enoch was a noted Quaker preacher. Enoch owned 4448 acres of land in Bucks County. Notice of hs death is in "the American Friend", Vol 32, Pg 388. They attended Buchingham monthly Quaker meeting.

     Mary Pearson was buried at Sardis-Pearson Cemetery, Union County, South Carolina. She was born on February 4, 1753 at Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Enoch Pearson and Tabitha Jacocks.^1,2 Mary Pearson married Josiah Prather, son of John Smith Prather and Abarilla Hyatt, in 1774 at South Carolina .¹ Mary Pearson died on February 4, 1805 at Whitmire, Laurens County, South Carolina, at age 52.

     Mary Josephine Pearson was born on April 12, 1884 at Indiana.² She married, at age 22, Harvey Haines, age 25, son of Andrew J. Haines and Eliza Ann Endsley, on Tuesday, February 5, 1907 at Miami County, Indiana, .¹ Mary Josephine Pearson died on January 2, 1962 at age 77.²

     Edward Peeresonne was born about 1575 at Bollin, Wilmslow, Cheshire, England. He died on July 25, 1648 at Wilmslow, Cheshire, England.

     Alice Penesherst was born about 1250 at England.¹ She was the daughter of Stephen Penesherst and Rohese de Baseville.¹ Alice Penesherst married John de Columbiers, son of Philip de Columbiers and Egeline de Courtenay, before 1275 at England .¹

     Laura Perham was born on April 20, 1812 at Ohio. She married, at age 17, John P. York, age 21, son of John York and Hannah Hammer, on Thursday, October 8, 1829 at Preble County, Ohio, . Laura Perham died on January 12, 1876 at Miami County, Indiana, at age 63. She was buried about January 14, 1876 at Crider Chapel Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.

     Beulah Mae Peters was born about 1906 at California. She was the daughter of David Bushong Peters and Bertanna Dillingham. Beulah Mae Peters married David Wilton Charters, age 26, son of David Wilton Charters and Esther Amelia Winquist, on Saturday, April 9, 1927 at Los Angeles, California, .¹ Beulah Mae Peters worked in 1930 as a night nurse in a hospital at Los Angeles, California. She and David Wilton Charters were divorced before 1937.² Beulah Mae Peters worked in 1940 as a Registered Nurse.²

     David Bushong Peters was born on October 19, 1877 at Tennessee.^3,1,2 He married Bertanna Dillingham in 1905 at California .³ David Bushong Peters died on November 27, 1952 at Los Angeles, California, at age 75.¹

     Lynne Peterson is the daughter of Gary Peterson and Daurice Evangeline Endsley.

     Doratha Jane Phillips also went by the name of "Dolly." She was born on December 24, 1830 at Fairfield, Ohio. She married, at age 22, John E. Cox, age 21, son of Jonathan Cox and Prudence Mickle, on Thursday, April 7, 1853 .¹ Doratha Jane Phillips died on February 15, 1904 at Winamac, Pulaski County, Indiana, at age 73.

     Katherine Phillips married Joseph M. Cox, son of Jonathan Cox and Prudence Mickle, .^1,2 Katherine Phillips was born about 1847 at Indiana.¹

     Sarah Ann Phillips was born on May 8, 1806 at Virginia. She was the daughter of Silas Dillon Phillips and Charlotte Stump. Sarah Ann Phillips married Henry Long, son of Coonrod Long and Polly Ferra, about 1825 .

     Silas Dillon Phillips was born in 1781. He married Charlotte Stump about 1800 . Silas Dillon Phillips died before 1860 at Pulaski County, Indiana.

     Lawrence John Pierson was born on May 4, 1607 at Daine Rowe, Wilmslow, Cheshire, England. He was a Quaker. He was the son of Edward Peeresonne. Lawrence John Pierson married Elizabeth Janney, daughter of William Randall Janney and Ellen Allred, about 1644/45 at Chester, Cheshire, England, . Lawrence John Pierson died on February 24, 1672/73 at Chester, Cheshire, England, at age 65. He was buried after February 24, 1672/73 at Mobberley burial grounds, Wilmslow, Mobberley, Cheshire, England.

In 1650, Lawrence Pierson was imprisoned for testifying in the streets of Highfield, Derbyshire. In 1657, Lawrence Pearson
of Wilmslow Parish refused to pay tithe, and had a horse worth L.3 confiscated, to pay the 8sh tithe to the Church of England.
1665, Lawrence Pearson of Pownall Fee, Cheshire was arrested at a meeting, and jailed for two months.

unto my sonne John L4: unto my sonne Edward the dishboard, the Little Plow, and the Little Pair of Plow Irons; etc; unto my
daughter Mary 1/3; It is my will that the rest of my goods be divided unto four equal parts and three parts thereof to be
divided into equal portions; unto my sonne John; unto my sonne Thomas; and unto my daughter Sarah. And the fourth equal
part being divided as aforesaid I give unto my Executors to administer to my daughter Mary or her issues as necessities
according as they in their wisdom and discretion shall see occation. Executors my brother Robert Pierson of Pownall Fee,

The fact that Lawrence left a will at all says something about him. Most people did not own enough to leave a will. The
family was not well-to-do, however. The Pearson name never appears among the famous or infamous of Cheshire. Several
were masons, an honest trade; but hard labor.

Concerning the two daughters of Lawrence and Elizabeth Peirson, we know nothing. The three sons John, Thomas and
Edward came to Philadelphia and owned land in Chester County, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia.
From book entitled "Chester (and its vicinity) Delaware County in Pennsylvania with Genealogical Sketches of some of the
old families," by John Hill Martin, Esq., published in Philadelphia in the year 1877 (see book in LAC Library Vol.
R974-82-C51ma). In this book there is a map showing the location of lands owned by the early settlers. John's land is shown
in Newtown Township; Edward's land in Darby Township; Thomas' in Marple Township.

Know all men by theise presents that I Lawrence Peirson of pownall ffee in the County of Chester mason being in perfect
memory blessed be the Lord doe hereby make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme ffollowing:

     Aaron Pinson was born about 1812 at Pike County, Kentucky. He was the son of Aaron Pinson and Sarah Lycan. Aaron Pinson married Mary Ann Lewis about 1840 at Missouri . Aaron Pinson died in 1851 at Crawford County, Missouri.

     Aaron Pinson was born in 1775 at Raleigh, North Carolina. He was the son of Thomas Pinson and Mary Molly Denny. Aaron Pinson married Sarah Lycan in 1802 at Surry County, North Carolina, . Aaron Pinson died on April 12, 1838 at Paris, Edgar County, Illinois.

     Catherine May Pinson was born on November 2, 1883 at Crawford County, Missouri. She was the daughter of James Milton Pinson and Susan V. Yeary.

     Edna J. Pinson was born on January 24, 1895 at St. James County, Missouri.^1,2 She was the daughter of James Milton Pinson and Susan V. Yeary. Edna J. Pinson married, at age 21, Earl Taylor, age 23, son of Newton Seigel Taylor and Debbie Agnes Beckley, on Wednesday, July 26, 1916 at St. James County, Missouri, . Edna J. Pinson died on January 5, 1970 at Ocean Beach, San Diego County, California, at age 74.

     James Milton Pinson was born on November 13, 1849 at Crawford County, Missouri. He was the son of Aaron Pinson and Mary Ann Lewis. James Milton Pinson married, at age 30, Susan V. Yeary, age 24, daughter of William H. Yeary and Catherine Livingston, on Thursday, August 19, 1880 at Crawford County, Missouri, .¹ James Milton Pinson died on March 7, 1922 at Crawford County, Missouri, at age 72.

     Thomas Pinson was born about 1745 at Grayson, Virginia. He married Mary Molly Denny in 1770 at Grayson, Virginia, . Thomas Pinson died in 1818 at Floyd, Kentucky.
